Brezhnev

After Stalin it was not that common to make a significant numbers of monuments for the following Soviet leaders, however some were made. Today some of them can be found in the park of fallen monuments in Moscow, for instance, a couple of sculptures of Leonid Brezhnev.

you did this for me didn't you? Lasting memories are sitting in my parents lounge room watching the 1980 closing Olympic ceremony with my dad (who died three months later), watching 'concrete face' trying hard not to smile, at the thousand or so little Miska bears doing somersaults. With the Russian invasion of Afghanistan, still fresh in everyone mind and my dad's experience of the Russians during WW2, it was hard to imagine what cracked Brezhnev resolve, were those little Miska bears.
