Kuldīga in an hour

Yesterday I got an hour of spare time in Kuldīga, a town some 160 km west of Riga. Photos of local church, shopwindows, police station etc.

Just like militsiya

Although this police sign is less than 20 years old the style of it resembles its predecessor - militsiya. Found in Purvciems, East Riga.

Helpline

This device was used to call militsia (police) in Soviet times. You would press the button and call militsia for help. Nowadays you can hardly spot any abandoned ones, though I found one on Gogoļa street in Riga
